  • This Oroppas has maintained great structure and texture for a St. Clement of this age and vintage.
The opening bell introduced some coffee grounds and raw mushroom to the nose. Patience then
rewarded the senses as this lively red came to life with flowing rich dark chocolate, cassis, black
currant and noticable blackberry. Well integrated tannins frame a secondary layer of dark cherries
and tobacco which lead to a mocha laced, but tapered finish. The wine fell off slightly the second
night as some of the main characteristics faded, but overall, a fine showing for the last wine of this
vintage in my cellar. 93 retro challenge

  • What a shame, drank this past it's prime. How do I describe this feeling I'm having? Its like bumping into a girl that you knew back in high school now... and you start dating and having a relationship and its OK, she's still cute now, BUT she used to look really HOT back in high school. Basically, she's past her peak.
Really had to search hard to get the nose.
NOSE: muted (at best) with black fruits and earth.
Tasted watered down and flat. No punch, No kick, all the fights gone out of her. Probably would have rated much higher a few years ago, but not now.
Sorry honey, I'm out on this one.
