Golden apple, floral and wonderful mineral notes on the nose. Above medium bodied, but carries its weight and sweetness with an almost effortless grace. Almost entirely orchard fruit through the middle (peach, apple pear) with excellent acidity throughout which blends into the more tart notes in the background. Finishes with a burst of floral and minerals which linger. Already fantastic, I get the sense this wine is only getting started. The sweetness is there, but it's so well balanced by the fruit and acidity and there's so much complexity through the middle - that's what really makes this wine special. Looking forward to trying this again in the coming years.
Agree with R&R this was a great btl of Mosel. I'm not a dessert wine guy but I'd drink this again for sure. Lots of depth and very fresh and lifted. Wish more of these showed up at our dinners instead of Sauternes.
A Bunch of Great Burgs at St. Genevieve (St. Genevieve, Mpls, MN): Light medium gold color. PNP, drank 1 glass over 30 minutes. I didn't take any notes on this last night, but fortunately there was a little bit left today to revisit. Wow, is this good. Bright fruit on the nose with a chiseled mineral note and bright white flowers and modest fusil. The palate has that silken texture with just a bit of oiliness and the fruit, well the fruit just rocks, great purity, pear, nectarine, apple, so tart and tangy to handle the sweetness, fusil, and brilliant minerality, long and luxurious. A classic JJP WSA! Man I'm glad there's more of these.

I'd like to go into more detail here but I've been unable to acquire a significant enough parcel to make a louder splash.
This wine is so limited in 2007 it's almost silly - most state allocations are in bottles, not cases. Somehow Prum has harnessed the splendor of the 2007 vintage with an Auslese that will bowl you over. This portfolio continues to dominate in 2007 and I can't even imagine what the GK wines are like. This is actually a bargain Riesling that is worth the money and it's going to be a rarity after the first wave of allocations dissipates.
