Extraordinary how well this has aged. It has a beautiful ethereal texture with just the right touch of faded cherry fruit with pronounced but not overdone acidity. The finish is elegant and complex with notes of minerals and roses. Quite mature and from a perfect bottle. Wow!

Lots of ripe red fruit on the attack. I'm very surprised at the amount of fruit for one of this age, incredible. Mixed spice box. Very much in the WS house style.

Tasting w/ The Gang @ Counselor Seiber's Pad (Orange County, CA): Geez, as if tasting the 1994 W-S Sonoma Coast next to it was not good fortune enough, then this wine comes right after it. Plenty of flavor here, and to me more denser than the 1994 SC. Blue fruited, suave red berry, actually what my notes say a jammy red quality. With air, then herb emerges and some soil/loam. Damn, this was good and shows you that CA PN can age well, especially under the stewarding of the W-S approach back in the day.

This is a beautifully aged elegant, soft, pinot with brilliant color and wonderfully delineated fruit, which still maintains a bit of tannic structure. The fruit was predominantly strawberry with a touch of grapefruit for a bit of tart citric zest. It also had a remarkable salinity to it that really smacked of sea air. The tannins here still have texture, and there is simply a depth to the nose and palate you'd be lucky to savor.

1995 WILLIAMS SELYEM ROCHIOLI RIVERBLOCK RRV PINOT NOIR- magnum; this was the second year this now 5 year old vineyard was designated; talk about great Pinot Noir, this hit the mark in every aspect; medium red color; still young and vibrant, it had fresh spicy red raspberry and strawberry running all the way through to the back end; it was silky smooth, elegant and also sophisticated; fabulous wine.
