The 87 was my first and only Hommage. It was quite youthful in appearance. The fruit was present, but flavors were a bit austere and tart. The wine did seem to sweeten a bit after some time in the decanter (1 1/2 hours). Earthy cedars started to develop and the fruit flavors broadened. It also did not seem as stingy with the meal as it did prior -- definitely a food, not sipping, wine. There are still substantial tannins. The wine is drinking pretty well now but I think it would benefit from a few more years in the cellar. 87 pts from me.
