  • A bit funky upon popping. I thought there was some VA but about 10 minutes later it all blew off to beautiful dark fruit and a surprisingly similar nose and flavors of Barbaresco. Sweet at the core with woody and foresty undertones. Just a hint of overripe fruit but very subdued. Other notes of tea and soil. Quite complex. I'm so sad I broke a bottle of this. It really is delicious. Paired perfectly with Turkish kebabs and a spicy Ezme. A+

  • Initial aroma blast of "Beaune crunch" and deep, sappy fruit; palate combines that fruit with a medicinal, slightly tannic edge - a nice kid pushed up against a chain link fence by some bully. The kid gets away with air, and sets off a real cherry bomb. This is moving in the right direction and will be balanced, if not perfectly smooth, in another couple of years.

  • Much less fruit and faded balance from when tasted a few years ago. Seems like it's nearing the end of its life quickly.
