immediately after opening the bottle I was impressed by the nose of this wine, deep red fruit and cedar. Supple tannins on the palate softened further 1 hour after decanting, and flavors of vanilla and currant began to take hold. This wine will surely hold up to many more years of cellaring.

Tasted this 2006 beside the 2012 Tresor with 16 people. The 2006 was preferred, largely because of superior seamless integration. Pitch black to the edge with a quarter inch pour. Aromatic blackberry and black cherry. Swishing around the mouth reveals juicy and smooth texture and good concentration, plus a nice undertow of drying tannin that becomes firmer and more forward when swallowed. The acidity is pleasantly refreshing. Has all the stuffing needed to continue improving into the next decade.

Full bodied with black currant, leather, tar, with fading hints of black cherry. Mellowed tannins with moderate acids. Very nice but I believe it had more fruit a few years ago when I tried it in 2011. I would drink up.

Still very good but getting to be time to drink these up. I don't see that this is going to improve from here.
