  • Still holding strong. Smooth. Rose on the nose, long lasting tannins on the finish. Second to last bottle. Will drink the last bottle within a year or less and hope it is as delicious and smooth as this one.

  • Almost two years since last visiting this wine. I originally opened a 2010 Brezza but that was so horribly corked I reached for this in hopes to make up for it...and boy did it ever. This came singing right out of the gate. Cherries, blackberries, tar, roses, and espresso. Tannins are still firm but they have softened enough to not be a distraction. This is at a very lovely place right now. Drink now or through 2025+.

  • Clear red with brick tones. Intense aromas of cherries in brandy/kirsch combined with something that reminds me of pine needles. Not very typical. Some alcohol shines through as well. Quite full bodied, very dry attack in the mouth, then some sweet fruit/dried fruit/prunes, before the tannins and alcohol sweeps up the rests. A quite heavy type of Barolo, with too much alcohol compared to fruit. Good wine, but in the company of this tasting it al falls apart.

  • Popped and poured; consumed over three hours. Tremendous Cerretta. Looks like ox blood in the glass...incredible visual with zero signs of age. Intoxicating aromas of kirsch, pie crust, tar, fresh roses, and tiramisu. On the palate it was all kirsch and sous bois supported by a mountain of tannins still, 12 years in. Beautiful acidity and the finish sits with you for well over half a minute. It was still going strong by the time we reached the bottom of the bottle. This wine will last for decades to come and I have expectations for it to start showing its best closer to 2025. Drink with patience or hold.

  • Somewhat international style, readily approachable. Nose of cherry, flower, slight candied orange peel. Medium weight. Doesn't have the clarity of a top Barolo. Things get a bit muddled in the finish. May also be some slightly vegetal tones. If it were more earthy it might come across in a more positive light as mushroom, but it's not happening here. Would help if there were a bit more acidity on the finish.
