Deep cherry red still. Interesting nose of brandied cherries, volcanic ash, cocoa powder, black tea with a minty topnote. Nose is a touch dusty but the palate is luscious and dense as if it's been concentrated by age. Has a nice push-pull of bitter/sweet and tender/severe with all the acidity reminds me of a mature Aglianico. Difficult vintage which yielded only 12.2% alc but made a wine that is easily going the distance. I'll note that this was still in great shape after a night under argon, not a step lost.

Fully mature, with a med(-) body, darker, dustier black fruits, some black tea, and soil. From Spring mountain, bottled in 1974, with 12,2% abv. Very fun to try it at this age. Served blind, I had no idea, and didn't care, as it's just meant to be enjoyed at this grand station in life. Drink now, not improving. recommended

Though mildly corked, I was still able to derive some pleasure from the dusty black fruit, fairly robust despite the bottle's age.

Seems maderized to me, with a port-like sweetness
