  • Clear, lemon gold color. Clean nose, with notes of stone fruit, floral (honeysuckle), crushed-stone minerality. On the palate, favor characteristics match the nose; medium body, medium acidity, medium length. Drink now. This is drinking just fine, but it's on the downward slope and will not improve. It's a great food wine, like an excellent dry Reisling.

  • I am very partial to Condrieu, and this wine delivers the magical expression of, perhaps, the best Viognier in the world. Let me assure any reader that the argument here can be only between the score of 91 and 93, which in any case is just a testament to a superbly crafted wine. This wine can age, but it was impossible to wait and it did not disappoint. While the color is light yellow, it is nevertheless clearly expressive, and the smell (as though one just opened a cupboard of sweet domestic spices) demands your attention and respect. The multilayered taste follows through with reminiscences of apricot (as it is arguably supposed to) but also creme brulee and even dry plums. The aftertaste is long, grows with time to subside slowly and leave you with a slight bitterness of the grape's seed. Now: this wine has to match the food very carefully. I made a mistake of paring it with the grilled sea brim, and this fantastic fish just does not fit the rich gorgeous structure of the wine. Do not make the same mistake, please, and go for grilled salmon instead!

  • nose: pretty and fat nose of oils, acacia flowers, lemon slices, pears, apricots and some mineral undertones as well

taste: excellent fuller body with fat tones of pears, apricots, oils, citrus tones, and a touch of minerals as well

overall: an excellent condrieu. Well balanced with good tones, and though lacking a slight bit it does bring about a very good and lengthy finish

  • 100% viognier
Œil : or pâle à soutenu, forte viscosité en parois
    Note perso : 90-91
