Popped and poured at Wood Tavern. Clean as a whistle. Real depth to it. A certain savoury element. Up there with the best of these.

Planning to drink through my last bottles of this, based on how variable they’ve been. This was a good one. Real grip and bite, some dark fruits and an almost cote de beaune savoury strawberry character to it. The only thing that stopped this being the best bottle was that there was actually not quite *enough* screeching acidity. I’d been thinking they were close to over the hill but I wonder if it’s more that they’ve just always been very variable.

Stemmy nose, vegetables. Cabbage. Slightly burnt fruit as well. Somewhat interesting initially but starts to fade. The weakest wine in the set. Granit 60 tasting chez Lillelund.

Hmm interesting - rejected on pouring by Mrs M (who is typically quite tolerant of funky Rhones) - I found it fun, a little bit thrilling, shrill perhaps but lovely acidity, great energy and zip, dark fruits and soil and a bit of nosebleed. Over time though, it started to fall apart on the nose - an almost baked character - completely out of step with the palate which remained singing. The fact that the fault grew over time points to TCA I suppose, but the palate / nose incongruity...I don't know.
