So my last note said, "drink now, or forever hold your peace" . . . and that was two years ago. I suppose I should be impressed that it's only dropped a point since then, but clearly way past its prime; tasty, but sort of bubbly. I have one bottle left; not sure that will ever be drunk by us.

a pleasant, if not simple wine that retained good acidity and fruit, but lacked complexity. not exactly a serious complaint for an appellation wine. mild oak.

A fading beauty. Sadly this is losing the brilliance and vibrancy that made it a favorite 2 years ago. Still great color, well balanced and eminently drinkable; but rapidly fading past its peak performance. Drink now or forever hold your piece (sic).

This get's the bottom of the very good category. Color was quite pale. Nose was a mixture of oak, butter and citrus. On the palate, it was butter, citrus, a bit of tart apple and minerals. It seemed a bit out of balance, but still very good. The acid and minerals seemed to predominate over the fruit, which gave it a thinner but sharp feel in the mouth. Suffered by comparison to the Rochioli and the Kistler I had the night before, which also fell into the very good to excellent category but which were substantially better than this.
