Only bottle of this wine we have in our cellar. Decanted for 1/2 hour before dinner. Garnet with signs of age at the rim. Smells hefty. All tertiary on the nose with wood, earth, meat and the faint background waft of dark berries. Way out of whack for me on the first night, by the second and third nights it had softened and broadened out. Maybe I'm starting to like slightly oxidised wines, because a wine of the this age and structure shouldn't really improve over three nights. It was still a bit awkward on the palate but was quite moreish with a meal. Nice to have something a bit different to the standard Aussie Shiraz, Cab Sauv and Cab-Merlot wines. Drink now or stick it in your Stroganoff.
