I gave this bottle the 'full treatment'. Decanted at 7am, cleaned out the bottle, back in the bottle and corked at 7:30am. Opened and again decanted at 6:30pm, consumed at 7:30pm. This is really good grand cru Burgundy. Just a little bit of the bright cherry sweetness, a little earthiness. Good length. Nothing monolithic or clunky in here. It will go for a long time, maybe better in 5-10-20 years, and I'll save a few bottles to look. But with a good decant, ready to enjoy right now.
Took over an hour to open up, was almost benign out of the bottle, but after some time exhibited a black fruit nose, subtle earthiness and cedar. Medium body and medium acidity, there's a core of black fruit, But is lacking a sense of individuality and is very primal. The mid-palate is muddled and the finish is liquId smooth as the tannins have resolve significantly. I'm going to let 1/2 the bottle sit for a day and revisit
Liquid velvet. Drinking super smooth now. All tannins resolved. It has thrown a bit of sediment. It opens up in the glass, but a short decant wouldn't hurt. This CdB is enjoyable, sophisticated, and long on the palate. Drink now.
