It is a little chunky in the mouth but full of flavour with crisp, earth tinged red fruits that bounce around the mouth.   Found this hidden in the cellar. I buy this wine regularly and had no intention of keeping this 2000 around this long. As feared, this is now past its best. It has lost the vibrancy of its fruit and neither the terroir nor the sub-par vintage could save this. I've found that even from a good vintage, these are best IMO at about 5 years. This one's on the decline.

  A wine that definately outperforms it's village. Plenty of sweet satsuma plum and cherry fruit on the nose. The wine has a highly perfumed fruit character and if it wasn't for a bit of rusticity on the back end you might be tricked into thinking you're consuming something from further north (think Chambolle). The texture is plush and there is real sap and a hint of stewed rhubarb. Plenty of earth,tobacco and some pronounced tannin bring the wine to a savoury finish. Bloody good!
