  • From an excellent looking bottle, this wine had a gold center and clear rims. The medium+ intensity nose put forth lemon, dried apricot, minerals, and some honey.

In the mouth, this wine was very ripe with surprising balance and great acidity. I say this because the wine was clearly quite mature and was also picked quite ripe. I am going to guess these we old vines because, despite the ripeness, the wine was integrated, lovely, and long. I had this open for 5 hours.

This bottle was first rate and verging on 95 point quality. However, I would certainly say the if you have any, it is time to drink them up.

  • Last of 12, opened 30 minutes, level down half cm, cork spongey, previous notes from 97 to 05 at least fine with some very fine, heightened colour, but not over for a wine of this age; rich fruit, nice chalky minerality, lemon cut, honeysuckle hints plus less good merest hint of stale corkiness; med/full, long, persistent and complex, quality rich fruit still with citrus bringing attractive balance, maybe past its very best (probably years 15 to 20) but still attractive at 31! F+ (18)……..just shows what nonsense is talked re aging capacity of white Burgs if made by traditional methods.
