Solid burgundy. The nose is classic and the taste is good. It can probably use a few more years as it is still a bit tanic and definately needs food to taste delicious.

Clos Vougeot Masterclass, with James Handford MW (Handford Wines, London): This is more a 2003 than an Anne Gros wine and like nothing we have tried from her before. Much like the Engel before, Sweet nose, sweet fruit, rich and spicy. Full on sweet and spicy on the palate, herby and medicinal. Difficult wine and not sure how one can enjoy this. 85

Epaulé 45 min, bu sur une côte de boeuf aux pommes de terre sautées
Robe limpide de couleur rouge moyen, nez de mûre et de groseille, vin donnant une sensation de velouté en bouche, très équilibré mais aussi fruité (fruits rouges, mûre) Très belle finale par la suite Une vrai réussite et on peut tout à fait l'apprécier dès maintenant
