This little gem far exceeded our expectations (especially in light of the other reviews currently online). I guess storage conditions truly make all the difference! It is drinking beautifully now but can absolutely cellar for a few more years.

A private DRC tasting (Waver, Ouder-Amstel, NL): Recently acquired, storage conditions unknown but probably mediocre at best. Bottle No. 004025 / 10.640. Level approximately 3 cm below the cork. Much better level than the previous bottle and a much livelier wine. Vestiges of spice box and floral fragrance, lively acidity with still a touch of tannins, relatively thin but lively, slightly separating, relatively short finish.

A private DRC tasting (Waver, Ouder-Amstel, NL): Recently acquired, storage conditions unknown but probably mediocre at best. Bottle No. 004024 / 10.640. Level approximately 5 cm below the cork. Very mature colour, still some red left; nice touch of orange zest on the nose, livelier than the Echézeaux 1986 which preceded it; quite fresh on the palate, retains its tannic structure, but tired.
