This Faiveley Musigny 1973 is possibly amongst the few Burgs of this vintage that is still doing well. We drank that bottle last night during a ‘significant bottle’ themed dinner. An initially slightly dusty note disappeared quickly to give way to an attractive, mature PN nose. Some tea leaves and mushroom aromas. The mid palette was delicate and vibrant, well balanced. In line with the vintage, there wasn’t a particularly long finish. Surprisingly, the wine held up a good hour and even opened a little more with time, with more floral and sweet notes. So in the end we may have drunk it a little to fast. But as the production was so small, it is very unlikely that we will ever have another go at this.

A great nose, fragrant, expressive. This drinks still very well, but has not much energy left, after 30min in the glass the remaining fruit was gone.
