Bright and luscious, with aromas and flavors of honey, dried apricots, and peach, layered with creme brulee and mineral. The mid-palate is big and rich, and the finish is clean and sweet with balanced acidity.
Just a delicious bottle of wine. Beautiful deep gold color. Complex combination of flavors - peach? Pineapple? Honey? Not a long, lingering finish, more acidic (less like a Sauternes in that respect). One of the best dessert wines in the States.
Vintage after vintage, this wine continues to impress, this year being no exception. The aromatics here are explosive, leaping from the glass with melon compote, banana, and creamy tropical fruit notes. Sauternes-like on the palate, rich and full with orange, honey and other citrus notes, medium- acid and great balance.
I opened this bottle for my wife on valentines day as this is her favorite desert wine. She loves to pour this over plain cheesecake or waffles. This is a delicious mix of honey and pears that makes up this bottle of liquid gold! An excellent desert wine that always is a hit in our house.
