08 RSV/Richebourg/LT. A step up in concentration and intensity over the RSV. Similar spice, whole cluster and tea flavors with just more fruit power and concentration, though similarly refined and well-integrated.

Light and transparent red. Hefty, sweet and seductive Pinot Noir aromas with strawberries, minerals, spices and coffee. Firm, pure, intense and surprisingly tender on the palate. A fantastic wine!

Opened in the late morning for drinking at dinner. This was initially tight and had some tannins but these quickly faded through dinner into a beautiful layered wine with dense fruit. As the evening evolved the nose started to come alive into a potpourri of flower & tea leaves including camomile, lilac. This was a lot more feminine than the 2009 which was more structured. Both wines were just beautiful tonight and a fabulous comparison.

This starts out impressively deep but surly - until 40 minutes in the glass when this starts to unfold and show the most heart-throbbingly wonderful, intriguing black cherry nose, accented by nascent Vosne spice, fresh wildflower, and ink. So extraordinarily deep on the palate. This is superlative and has the material to improve and improve over the years, just as it did over several hours in the glass tonight. 97-98
