  • 3/3, very good cork (c15% soaked).
Pale/medium garnet core, wide pale garnet rim. Nose is gently aromatic, showing soil, mushroom, touch of liquorice, underlying dark fruit. Medium bodied, elegant, soft, a touch of richness too, soil, mushroom, liquorice with dark fruit, balanced acidity, good length harmonious finish. Drinking well, should hold for a few years yet.

  • You need to go to this wine - its not gonna come running to you. As usual with this producer the wine is perfurmed and clear and a bit cranky right out of the bottle. 30 minutes later this is all aromatic cherries with a touch of funky mushroom decay and the feeling that this has 20 years left. Good now, but could have some serious forest-floor mulchy rotting corpse tang to by 2030. Just dont tell them where you hid the body.

  • Monthly Tasting Group HWS #077; Round the Corton hill in Burgundy (By BD): Beautiful Burgundy bouquet with cherries, raspberries and some earthy impressions. On the palate juicy fruits, some earthy impressions, some spiciness and a touch of sweetness. Ok acidity and mild tannin. A pleasant and easy going wine, but not really delivering as expected/hoped for.

  • Pale/'medium mahogany core, wide pale mahogany rim. Developed, gently complex nose, slightly smoky with red cherry, raspberry, plum and chalky mineral notes. Medium bodied on the palate, soft, fully resolved tannins, gentle spicy red cherry and plum fruit and a very good length, fresh, slightly gamey finish. Mature, soft, savoury and delicious. Now and will certainly go for at least another 3 years.

  • Medium ruby/garnet core, wide pale rim. Mellow nose with ripe plum and dark cherry. Fragrant with some spice and autumnal notes. Medium bodied with sweet, slightly bruised plum and berry fruits, very fine, fully resolved tannins, an attractive hint of gaminess on the long, savoury, fresh finish. Nice transparency and purity here, a lovely drink, drinking well now but no hurry.
