This wine is gorgeous. Jam packed with baking spices (pumpkin pie), bluberry crisp, clove, cinnamon, violets. Silk on the pallate with lots of black and blue fruit. flavours kept changing throughout the night. Fantastic wine overall - slightly over concentrated to pair with food.
It is still a little young, but after about 2 hours of decanting it is just beautiful. It is bold but not over the top; it stood up to the best first growths easily in my opinion and was one of my favorites of the evening.
I wont score it, however the most disappointing bottle I've had to date. Other readers are spot on in that this is manufactured - tastes like some type of medicine or chemically enhanced beverage. Total wake up call for me...think I'll stick to more reasonably priced bottles from now on!
Tasted blind. At first the nose on this was very nice but once I started drinking the wine it really got tame. Nose had aromas of cherry, smoke, rose and lead pencil. On the palate, this didn't have any sharp edges although I'm not sure how long this was decanted. Tons of red and black fruits with cherry and licorice jumping out to me. Just wave after wave of flavors with a 45+ second finish. Very intense wine. I guessed a Howell Mountain wine and I'm glad I got that.
