Interestingly this felt much younger and in need of more time than the approachable and sexy 2013 next to it. Similar to the 2010 bordeaux, I feel that the best 2008 Napa just need substantially more time than the 2007s or even the 2013s.
Could potentially develop into a giant with enough time

Feminine notes. Especially compared to the 18 Beringer. The texture it was jumped out to me first. Loved it. Pure velvet with a bold punch and long lasting spice finish. The wine fell off about 45 mins after arriving. Jim picked up on that fast, I noticed it about an hour later, but I have a much more novice pallet. Agree this is a great PnP wine.

Decanted 30 min and enjoyed over the next 2-3 hours. First hour this is a beauty. Soft, feminine mouth feel. Red fruited. Just a hint of aged fruit on the nose and palate. Hard to peg as a Materium at first, due to the aging. Tends toward red, but not stewed, plum. Younger vintages can easily be picked out of a lineup by our group. This is very well integrated on all fronts, no harsh edges. About 90 min in, it seems to drop off a bit and weaken, but another hour of air and it seems stronger, again? Weird. But good. Glad to have this aged one to compare against all our modern, younger vintages, between the 3 of us.......a learning lesson!
Fantastic wine. A lot of sediment, last glass struggled to filter and was very cloudy. Great dark fruit flavor and incredible aroma from the glass. Wish I had more.

Blind, decanted. Powerful, inky dark fruit with cassis and silky tannins. 94
