NobleRottersSydney - Henschke (Fix, St James, Sydney): {screwcap, 14.5%} [Alan- guest] Old style Barossa red. Shiraz first, then CS, merlot and CF. Aged plums, seductive sweetly rotting strawberries. Medium weight palate, fully mature, with low furry tannins. Lots of ripeness emerges as dates and figs on the palate. Palate not so convincing as the nose – this is ready to drink.

Colour: Crimson with a slight brownish tinge Nose: Coffee, currents, blackberry, menthol and cedar Palette: Blackberry, currants, marzipan, liquorice, menthol, pepper, cedar Very creamy finish.
Quite a big porty wine and it's finally hitting it's stride.
This is the 3rd bottle of this vintage I've consumed and the 1st I've really enjoyed. The previous bottles have been un-integrated and quite muddled in their flavours. Looks like all that was needed was enough time.

Drinkable but def past its peak.
Should have consumed this many years ago (7-10 yrs max.
Not the fault of the wine, but keeping it too long has resulted in it presenting with stewed fruits that approach becoming a fortified port!
Need to drink our 2010 and 2012’s before it goes the same way.

Really really really… good. Perfect aged red.
Soft fruits, silky mouthfeel, coats your throat.
Yum as!
