Ripe, well-integrated blackberry and raspberry fruit; soft tannins; licorice, black coffee, and earthy spice. A marvelous compliment to grilled fish and acorn squash, with couscous generously spiced with Ras El Hanout and fresh mint. The wine married harmoniously with the food, and made me glad that I hadn't opened the Viognier I'd originally thought of. How many more bottles do Inwish I had of this? Only 10 or 20. Well-priced for the quality, this would make a solid choice for House Wine.
Very dark red color. Aerated into glasses; drank 2 glasses over 90 minutes. The nose shows lots of tobacco, charcoal, smoke, blackberry, black raspberry, and wood. The palate is medium full bodied, blackberry liqueur, tobacco, anise, wood, and mild some heat. Medium finish. Still solid.
