No formal notes, but this was quite a bit better than my bottle three years ago, so that's a good sign. This wine smelled quite lovely and fruity, certainly showing development, but nothing off putting about it. The prior bottle was quite developed but this one not. Pleasing fruit and tertiary flavors throughout, but nothing old or stale. Tannins are in a good place and I think this wine is very ready to go, probably peaking, and certainly not improving from here. I'll feel free to pop my last bottle over the next few years.

My last bottle. Garnet brown in colour. Still holds its fruit. Sour cherry and plum on the palate. Would not have gotten better with any more aging so drink up.

Cork was absolutely perfectly extracted, with just light color at the wine end. Still, showed slightly advanced color and aromas. Some of these aromas dissipated with air time, but it always remained a little funky. Palate entry showed some more tart fruit, but still plenty of leafs and earthy floor notes. Quite tannic as its left on the palate, and this carries heavily into the finish. Very big wine still, tannicly speaking, but again it's showing more advanced notes on the finish, including old wet leafs, plums, dark fruit. But boy is it ever still tannic... going on an hour in the glass it did mellow a bit, but always remained quite grippy. Nice wine, but I worry about its advanced character. Hope to pop another bottle soon and decant it for a while first to get a better feel for where this is headed.

Better than the previous bottle - probably because we decanted for a couple of hours and then poured it through an aerator. Smooth and silky. Dark cherries, plum and leather notes. One left.

Opened a bottle of this at Crystal Jade Prestige (MBFC) over a wine dinner with my wine mates.
Dark brown hues at the rim. Rustic, charming nose with some liquorice.
Tannins still formidable upon opening; sour cherries, leather and plums with a grippy mouthfeel.
Had expected this wine to be more mellowed and integrated.
