  Drank through the week and enjoyed it. It is still a brooding big boy that loves a decant or through a Vinturi.

  Blackberry on the nose. Very smooth on the palate, blackberry jam and vanilla. Drank over two nights, quite impressive for a 10+ year old syrah.

  Still a big and fruit-forward wine, loads of ripe blackberry, dark and brooding, some minor black pepper notes. Moderate finish. Paired with a grilled lamb burger.

  A ripe, bold Napa red, lots of oak. Pleasant enough, not much complexity, not a very strong syrah profile. Still robust (fortunately, as I still have bottles to drink). Would be great with steaks or burgers. Big, bold, a touch sweet, seems to lack finesse

  Not sure if it’s the age or the bottle but a bit flat and flabby. Will give it another hour in the decanter. But so far into the hour not as impressed as I used to be with this vintage
