  Although a couple years beyond peak and fully mature, this is still drinking wonderfully. An excellent example of a Bordeaux that can age and drink at 20-30 years and still provide pleasure. Decanted and enjoyed from magnum with Christmas dinner featuring a smoked beef tenderloin and traditional sides. Deep garnet core with slight browning at the edges. Highly complex with medium aromas and medium plus flavors: decaying, old forest floor; savory mushroom; stewed and baked plum, cherry, raspberry, and strawberry; old, soft leather; old spice rack; stale pipe tobacco; old furniture wood; and dirty red granite. Seamless structure, but what’s left is keeping this alive and balanced. Medium plus finish. Although this has started the slow decline into advanced age, this should remain drinkable and enjoyable for the next 2-3 years.
