Probably slightly past its peak, but still quite wonderful. Immediately after opening, the wine seemed "old", a bit thin and dominated by autumn leaves. But with less than ten minutes in the glass, it filled out and became an intense mix of blackberry liqueur, curry spices, and cocoa, with a hint of licorice, followed by an intense, long, and vivid aftertaste. This should last another four years and maybe more, but why risk it?

30+ wines in Michigan (The Goldberg's): I think I liked this better than most. It is really drinking well and while at peak, no hurry. The nose is dark cherries and black raspberries with some spice and anise. Nice texture. Dark cherries and raspberries on the palate. Juicy acidity. Long finish.

Pronounced nose of blackberry, earth, brush. Med-plus body, medium fine, electric tannin, medium acid. Rich. Palate of blackberry, bramble and brush, sweet cedar, chocolate. Medium finish of fruit. This is a big, fruity wine but carries both of the flaws (kidding!) quite well. Yummy.

Popped and poured (decant the next). Big fruit, really big fruit. No signs of tannin. Calmed down a bit after some time. Would have been difficult to place this at 20 years old. Very Good.
