Burg/Bordeaux Dinner with BYO Gang (The Kongsee): Medium garnet, with significant browning and fading on edges. Nose exhibiting pepper, cloves, dried grass, hint of dried flower, and dried cranberry and dates. Tannins still giving a bite, while having a rather lean mouthfeel, somewhat hollow in fact, and with mostly tertiary peppery meaty flavours, and dried grass, and fruits seem to be nearly completely missing. A bottle that has seen better days in the last decade, but definitely too old now

Roll of the dice on a top shoulder bottle. 70's Lalande has a good reputation, even if this vintage was not much to write home about. As soon as I put my nose to the glass this was easily identified as cork failure. Completely maderized with Balsamic notes.

Red. Attractive light fruity bouquet with some oak. Soft wine with fresh acidity and a long aftertaste. Has class, but is light bodied. Now at, or just past its peak although I can imagine it will stay in this stage for several years.
