I'm down to the last two bottles of this and this one is my favorite. A few others before this I thought were leaning out but this wine is singing. Wonderful combination of dark, but still lots of red, fruits. Matched incredibly well with roasted chicken, brown mushroom gravy, duck fat pan roasted mini potatoes cut in quarters, slightly spicy bean salad. I'm fairly sure the food enhanced the wine. Wish I had more in my glass and in my cellar! Aren't we lucky.

This wine is at it’s peak and really in a good place! Sandalwood, touches of oak; maraschino cherries, slight tertiary. Lots of fruit, good acidity and velvet texture. The 2006 was a good year for the Enfant Jesus; after all. Just needed time. Highly recommended for fans of Premier Cru Cote de Beaune

Light red with a touch of brown. Lovely red fruit and soil. Medium weight. Equal parts of strawberry and black cherry, light earth, excellent acidity, and inner mouth floral tones. Quite a beauty and just about fully resolved. This bottling is almost always worth a look, and this vintage has turned out surprisingly well.

(Bouchard Père et Fils Beaune 1er Cru Grèves Vigne de L'Enfant Jesus) Light medium cherry red color with pale meniscus; floral, roses, sous bois nose; silky textured, roses, sous bois, tart red fruit, mineral palate; medium-plus finish 92+ points
(Bouchard Père et Fils Beaune 1er Cru Grèves Vigne de L'Enfant Jesus) Gorgeous roses, cherry nose; poised, tasty, tart cherry, red fruit palate; medium-plus finish
(Bouchard Père et Fils Beaune Grèves Vigne de l’Enfant Jésus) A softer and redder nose. A narrow entry but it bursts across the palate with accessible ripe fruit - structure and complexity follow in the next wave. I think it follows the Bèze much more successfully in 2006 than it did in 2005. Super.

Burgundy Wimps 2023 - Hôtel Frédéric Carrion table (La Trompette): Deep and ample on the nose, and something tomatoey. A good line of acidity, verging on volatile, lots of energy, and an earthiness. Old school and delicious.
