Black Berries and Red Berries, Cigar box, slight eucalypt and mint, fine tannins and subtle acid. Smooth on the front and mid palate with lingering length. Will cellar for many years but after a decent breath, it is drinking really well now. 93+
What a difference a year can make to a wine. Blackberry, blackcurrant, cigar box, vintage railway carriage. Compared to bottle tried last year, more mellow with softer earthy tannins. In a great place, entering the zone. Was planning to not crack open another bottle til my 2006 son's 18th year in 2024, but it's so good now that I am tempted to try one sooner.
First one of these I've opened. Still good colour to it, and a lovely nose. Nice weight on the palate - cassis, dark chocolate, olives - a bit savoury. Drinking well now, but should still go a couple more years. Great food wine
