Tar and blackcurrant immediately on nose, rich fruit in an integrated palate. Good to drink now and have pushed the score up a little considering it’s VFM.

No age on rim, quite closed nose initially but with lots of rich spicy fruit (plums / cinnamon) on the palate, long, soft tannins, easy to drink but nothing to grab the attention.

Deep- black cherry. Distinct aromas of fresh black cherry, blackberry, mulberry, violets, even rhubarb, alongside garrigue notes. There is a surprisingly fresh entry on the palate with lemon-edged acidity that balances nicely with the ripe fruit: redcurrant, mulberry and black cherry. The fruit is supported by elements of wild fennel, black olive and black pepper. There is a certain rawness and sinewyness to the mid-palate and whilst there is some richness given the riper 2009, the wine seems a little flat or monochrome. Feral notes also start to build as the wine opens. I just didn't find the wine that exciting.
