Another 2009 success for Lafon this wine opened with a pure green gold colour with a little deepening of the colour. The nose was bright and pure with Nashi pear, white nectarine and touches of grapefruit and pineapple. The palate has lovely purity of fruit with medium weight and density leading into a finish of buttered honey toast and hazelnuts. There is good grip and minerality making this a perfect example of high quality village Meursault.

Honey scents, nectar flavours and a deep amber colour. Not too mineraly with less chewy tannins than the 2018. More refined and buttery. What was most impressive about this wine was that it paired beautifully with some dry age reverse sear tomahawk. The fullness of the lafon was a great compliment to the tomahawk's fat and texture

Another lovely showing for this wine. Again, you have to double-check the label...this is a 2009? It does not show any of the presumed negatives of 2009 white Burg - it is not overripe, fat, or acid deficient. In fact, it has gorgeous chalky minerals, zippy acid, and delicious fruit all knitted into a supremely enjoyable package. Had this with a duck and radicchio salad - really excellent.

Rich but not overripe nose of pear and hazelnut. Fleshy on the palate without showing excess weight, with orchard fruit flavors, nice cut, and zesty minerality. Although not generally a fan of the vintage, the 2009 Clos de la Barre is quite nice. Drink now through 2030.

Light yellow. White flower, honeysuckle notes. Lightly oaked, a light demure style of Meursault. Aging gracefully- a terrific bottle!
