After a 3 hour decant this wine still had a “nose”. Still smell slight alcohol An slight vanilla notes Smell a lil bit of licorice Taste is subtle with slight red fruits with some tart red fruit flavors. . Reallly soft tannins with some nice mouth watering acidity

Notes of cassis and espresso/extra dark chocolate. Similar on the palate with decent body and acidity. Tannins dry and bitter like an extra dark chocolate. This seemed to obscure the underlying fruit. Perhaps over extraction and aging in some heavily toasted barrels? I usually enjoy aged pine ridge quite a bit but disappointed by this bottle. Unsure if this is a bad bottle or representative of a typical bottle. My bottle definitely needed an extra charred fatty steak (which sadly I didn't have).

A bit of barn yard up front, tastes more like a mature pinot at firsts but it opens up into a tasty mouthful of cherries and plums. Finishes with a bit of earth and chocolate.
