3rd time with this wine. Crushed strawberries: brown sugar, spice. This bottle is a little younger and more youthful than the previous 2. Not much different than the 91. Truly outstanding.

This wine is in the zone. Stored in a cool cellar of impeccable provenance. At peak under these conditions. Straddling that zone between savory and sweet. On the noise classic DRC spice. On the palate there is a fine sweetness along with savory notes of black tea and soy. Another outstanding 92 red burgundy.

The DRC Echezeaux was a nice trip back to Burgundy. A lighter DRC with some strawberries and steminess to give away its identity, this bottle seemed as good as it was going to get, a good dinner wine with enough complexity to keep it interesting and noticeably more subtlety than a wine like the ’83 Swan.

Mature DRC with Bill Randolph (Jim and Gaby's - Hyde Park IL): DRC tasting. Red fruit on the nose with a mild dose of DRC spice. Less prominent red fruit on the palate. Wine didn't seem completely harmonious with some noticeable oak hanging around and a bit too much acidity on the finis.

Opens slowly. Cork was fully soaked. Fruit was still vibrant and oak presence is obvious after opening up over a couple of hours. No decanting
