  • A nice surprise! Nose is shy, I have decanted for 2hrs and it was very faint, mostly dark fruit. But taste makes up for it, it is balanced, med+ concentrated, with fruit and some extra spice. Enjoyed every sip. Medium long, pleasant finish. Good, mature bordeaux, drink up.

  • Great wine for the money if you crave old world Bordeaux but don’t want to open one of your expensive bottles. Lacking in finish and mouthfeel but the nose is superb. An easy 91-93.

  • This is a great drink anytime Pauillac. I was surprised how much of the terroir was in this wine being a second wine from a sub optimal vintage. Nose could be more plentiful and complexity could be better but this wine is great to drink now and enjoyable. 40 dollars a bottle for when you don’t feel like popping your top tier Bordeaux’s but want a taste of what Pauillac has to offer. No decanting necessary. Used coravin so I can have a glass or two each night.

  • Tasted ok, but the nose wasn't intriguing. Muted fruit, but kind of musty. Maybe the vintage, maybe just being the second label. Was hoping it would be closer to the last reviewer's 89 as opposed to the prior's 85.

  • I had this wine 2 days ago at a dinner where several bottles (of this wine and others) were opened. I had not the vintage of this wine before and 2007 is not known as a great year, so I approached it with limited expectations. I was positively surprised. Classic Bordeaux nose of gooseberries, wood and earth, with clear deep red color. Medium in its body, leathery and structured in its approached, it gave way to pleasurable fruits in the initial, medium and final stages, finishing with a pleasurable medium finish. It exceeded my expectations as a previous encounter I had with this wine (very long time ago) was not pleasant (I was still relatively inexperienced with wine, and perhaps the bottle I tried was young and the wine totally closed and as such disappointing. Not the case with this wine, proving the point that lesser vintages can be very useful as they may be early maturing, and thus very approachable and drinkable. Although perfectly drinkable now, it may have a few years left 2-5 may be? I gave this wine a score of 89, but could be 90.
