(Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc) For a Sauvignon, this wine has a fairly rich lemon yellow colour. The nose has peachy tropical fruit and sherbet notes, with a hint of asparagus. Palate has good body, acceptable acidity, but seems over rich, with none of the sharp, grassy flavours you might expect. Not the classic profile of NZ Sauvignon, but this reflects the unusually warm vintage of 1998.
