Wow, this was delicious! Full red cherry color. No signs of age. Gorgeous red cherry fruit and spice on the nose, with hints of tea and flowers. In the mouth, precise and velvety, with plenty of fruit and earth, spice, mushroom, tea, and floral notes. This is a really lively, delightful Estate and goes to show you just how elegantly they'll age. A really marvelous showing. A

Our last bottle of this 20 year old Rochioli pinot noir. If you believe they are not age worthy this bottle would say otherwise. Clear medium red color, plenty of red and darker berry fruit aromas, mature earthy fruit with a wonderful mouth-coating texture. The smooth finish lasted for a minute+.

Can't rate this wine but was definitely interesting. I expected it to have really turned for the worse, but it still had some life even though it was clearly an aged wine -- couldn't put my finger on what was making this tick for better or worse. Wish I had tasted it blind.

Eggplant parmigiana was the foil for this bottle. Crimson with slight bricking on the edges, this wine revealed a slight barnyard note on open which quickly gave way to copious levels of smoky toast, candied cherry, sweet menthol and leather. Slow and round attack yields to a mouthful of red stone fruit and savories on the mid-palate and finish. There is some tannin left to push the finish through the vapor trail of flavor. A well done effort by Rochioli! This can continue to evolve for another 5 years, plenty of fruit and tannin to ride it out. At 14.2%, this was ahead of it's time in pushing the ripeness level that has become the norm in Cali Pinot.
