  • Consumed over 2 days with no change in quality. The wine was elegant, soft with good fruit and some spice. It had finesse with a feminine edge despite it's high 14%alcohol.It is drinking beautifully but will continue to evolve and improve over coming years.

    - Showing up with a very accesible nose and seductive aromas of wild cherry, lot of berries, stony character, powdery and first signs of tertiary flavours. Just everything in place. The wooden hints are very well integrated. What is really outstanding here is the precise aromas, you can just clearly distinguish them.
    - With the first sip, the palate was reduced compared to the acceisible nose, bit too aggressiv accidity first. But with time in the glass, it lightens up and shining bright with a fascinating drinking pleasure and elegance. In the finish you can feel the red berries and more and more fir needle which present alongside a lovely citric acidity for such a long time!
    - Definitely has not reached its peak yet. I would wait 5 years or more to get all out of it.

  • fresh, clean, precise and straight forward on the nose, raw redish fruits such as cherry, strawberries and maybe some blueberries. so charming and intense on the nose, present as a wine can be. intermixed with some herbal touches. wood and the vanilla aromas are there but rather on the background this has still high potential once the tertiary aromas really start to kick in. the nose is vibing with elegance and finesse, which i personally seek and love in wines.

on the palate a little less intriguing than on the nose. on the finish there is even a little disturbing greenish touch. red cherries. dominating acidity, medium tannins. long finish. but here again charming and vibing with the finesse, precision and elegance.

keep or decant for at least 1-2 hours.

  • Decanted maybe 30 min. Fully mature and ready to go. Pleasant to drink over a couple hours.

  • Vosne or Volnay?: Guessed a modern maker of Vosne from warmer plot like Brulees. Plenty of spice and good complexity but the red fruit seemed overripe. There seems to have been a stylistic shift in Lafon's reds from those of the 1990s.
