  • Well said, boys! I am clearly the second half of the Boston tag-team for this wine at Troquet!

Beautiful, nuanced, perfumed nose from the opening pour. Literally couldn't consume it quickly enough before it fell apart.

I love experiencing these 50 yr old gemstones :)

  • Nose: Very perfumed with Olive, Cured Meat, Apricot and earthy spices. Palate: Leather, Ripe Apricot and some cherry fruit. Clove, Black Pepper and a Salami note. Complex and completely resolved. Finish: Just atomizes on the finish falling away and showing powdery tannin.

This was a very interesting wine, and for comparisons sake we put the 95 next to it. Unfortunately the 64 started to fall apart after about an hour open, but while it was good it really was an interesting drink.

Summer sale at Troquet in Boston

  • Beautiful Hermitage nose for 30 minutes then went right off the Cliffs of Moher. Meat and smoke still in balance with the slightly wild fruit. Still tannic. Splash decant and drink up.
