On the downside but still enjoyable. Bright ruby color with some bricking at the edge, but much younger looking than its 19 years. Cherry, tobacco, and a hint of barnyard; good acidity. Fruit is fading; finish short. I liked this, but more because it was interesting to consider the journey than where it is at the moment. (I had a number of these before joining CT.) Drink up.

1990 Brunello and Chianti Riserva (Palo Alto): Aged nose with some floral, barnyard notes though musty and less exhuberant than (A). Chewy, tart red cherry on the palate. Musty, lacks freshness, and there's an off, sour note. Went downhill in the glass. My 5/7, group's 6/7. (Tasted blind)
