Bob's cellar. Dark red. Meaty, fleshy, chocolate and blackberry nose, touch of red fruit acidity. Flavours are also full and meaty, maraschino and red cherry, faded tannins, edge of age. Nice. Day 2, some of the age has blown off and the fruit comes through more.

14.5%, screwcap. Still fresh tasting. Fragrant. Nice food friendly tartness, with no discernible Aussie ascorbic acid aftertaste. Carries its high alcohol well. PnP, continued to evolve over the evening. Have one more bottle - should revisit in a year or five.

Bob's cellar. Huge swirls of rich black fruit, sweet damsons and plums, defined peppery blackurrant and menthol nose. Dry opening textures, receded black & red fruit, austere, more fruit and life than previous bottles. As this opens up, the fruit rises, nicely mixed redcurrant and cherry doused with blackcurrant cassis. There's some black peppery tannin in the background. Nice and as this opens up it is very good.

Deep ruby with a pronounced nose of blackberries, blackcurrant, scorched earth, leather, tobacco box, herbs and pencil lead. Long finish with a great balance of intense black fruits and tertiary flavours. Really wears the high alcohol well without noticing it. Still plenty of life left in this!

Just a gorgeous mature Margaret River Cabernet. Drinking in its prime, but not going downhill anytime soon. Now to 2030+
