At Wine Group Dinner #199 DRC Richebourg Vertical, Harvey's Bistro. This was WOTN with a dense dark cherry colour and a still primary nose of blackberry, raspberry, dark cherries and wild strawberries with touches of roses and Asian spice. The bouquet continue to evolve and change during the too short evening and led into a palate of great intensity and layering that defied gravity to remain weightless and delicious at this early (14 year) stage of development. There is lovely grip and finesse here that recalls the 2009 La Tache drunk here in 2020. This is a very special bottle of Burgundy.
Wine gathering at RJ's; 4/4/2023-4/7/2023 (South Carolina): Intoxicating classic DRC nose displaying perfectly ripe opulent black fruit, blackberry concentrate, black berry liqueur, strong Chinese herbal medicine, rose, stem, sap, roasted coffee bean, exotic incense, smoke, sand crushed rocks. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of perfectly ripe pure black fruit, rich and opulent but also rich and beautifully detailed, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, and the never ending finish. This is incredibly expressive and drinking perfectly in a youthful way but can easily improve for a couple more decades, gaining sous bois and tertiary notes.

Truly amazing. Big bold ripe creamy dense sweet lush red fruits. Succulent, silky, dense, pure, and fresh. Long baking spiced drenched finish to boot. Simply a marvel and joy to drink. Length is nearly unbelievable. Perhaps not as nuanced and detailed at this age, this is exquisite. So drinkable and enjoyable. Wow!

Double decanted two hours beforehand. Nose initially still closed, with a little whiff of piney reduction. On the palate, a crescendo of expanding flavor, quite remarkable, continuing through the lengthy finish. Wild berries showed up on the nose after an hour in the glass. Wonderful.
