PNP as it was very good at opening and so put cork back in and did not decant. This was really nice. Fully mature and past its best, but the combination of elegant, mature fruit and wonderful earth, leather, game elements on the nose was great. Nice finish, and it held up in the glass for the entire evening. Of course this is off the charts expensive, but at least this bottle was very high quality wine, and outclassed the Richebourg. A-

Wine had been well-stored and was in good shape with deep nose (floral with some solvents still) and gorgeous brick-edged color, but sadly past its day. After a half-hour of air the sherried qualities were still there, a superb old burgundy to which a large shot of premium sherry had been added. No vinegar notes, medium in toast, and a pleasure to swirl and nose, but I could drink only half my glass if that, and reserved the rest for saucework and deglazing.

on the gentle downslope. Tertiary, sous bois, dried strawberry, soy. held up for about 2 hours after opening. Drink up.

Dr Chan. Forest floor aromatics. Delicate, higher acidity than Ponsot pair and also suggested lighter vintage. Maybe 1971? (2354/14101)

Relatively unexpressive bottle. Fruit and dry soil tones, but not much overall complexity
