  • Lots of elegance demonstrated by this Chasse Spleen 2008, classic Bordeaux style, clever blend, lottle acidity bit lots of smooth to drink berries and some oak and tobacco I think.

  • Ruby colour with a nose of black fruit and pencil shaving and a lively palate of fresh blackberry and blackcurrant and a slightly savoury, dried herb finish. Medium body and lovely balance.

  • briefly decanted then put back into bottle
    great cork
    13 alc
    enjoyed over a few days.

robe - still quite youthful, not showing any bricking , ruby rim
nose - the nose on this all of the way through was typical bordeaux with notes of tobacco, so nice oak but not oaky, high toned dark fruit along with some old leather. very textbook
palate - compared to comparable o8 brdx that i have had over the past 2 years, this is holding up. there is good length and some dusty tannins . it shows the brightness of the vintage but by no means " acidic", in fact the red and blue fruits still show through after 13 years.
i would drink this now and over the next 2 or so years. If this was next to the o9, i believe the mid palate would show thinner compared to an o9.
side note, over the summer i had the o8 Gloria and this is showing better than that bottle. even just down to density and mid palate.
    good times
    enjoy soon
    great with steaks !

  • Naja, wohl den Erwartungen entsprechend. Rubinrot, Ziegelreflexe, sehr breiter Wasserrand. Nase schwach aber eigentlich sehr OK. Waldbeeren, etwas Leder und Zedern. Am Gaumen eher brustkrank, sehr wässrig, rotbeerige Frucht. OK Bordeaux.

  • Quote OK to drink now, more to give if cellared more. A bit straight forward at the moment, but good balance, OK length. The typical Bordaux nose is there, but to site a Seinfeld episode - there is no "grace". I would expect it to be more elegant when adding a bit more complexity with more age - but don't expect it to be stunning.

Good for its level in my book.
