Enjoyable wine in the classic bordeaux style. Wine had arrived via Fedex earlier in the morning and wasn't at its best when initially opened. But given time to properly air, this had expected bordeaux charms for the price point ($48 purchased in Jan 2023).
Nose has candied rose petal, cassis, cherry and cedar. Body is a very dark purple with some sedimentation/crystals. Palate is dark cassis, cedar smoke, kefir lime acid, and leather. Medium long finish, with 92+ upside with proper decanting and food pairing.

First had this wine at Cafe L'Europe in West Palm Beach. Loved it. And the design is one of my favorites. The black and gold is beautiful. Eventually got around to ordering 6 bottles from Millesima. 2012 seems like an underrated Bordeaux vintage imo.
Opening first bottle today. Will drink it over the next 2-3 days and report back.
Immediately upon opening, drinkable right away. There is something about this that I love and can't quite place my finger on. It is racy, sleek, graphite (pencil lead?), refreshing. Fruit is a bit muted. Very classic. I would be happy to drink the rest of the bottle just like this.
4-5 hours later, not a lot of change. Delicious. I agree with others who say this comes off as a classic mature bordeaux.
Next evening: not as good for my preference. Nose is still there. Tannins have integrated more, and the “racy” “sleek” polish is fading. Feels like it’s magic is gone, though still very drinkable and enjoyable. It’s smoother, but I’m not sure in a good way. Will not pour it down the sink though.
Day 3: similar to day 2. Nothing much happening, but still enjoyable.
At this point my intention is to drink remaining bottles on day 1. Though I plan to drink one bottle per year, so it will be fun to see how it evolves.

Opaque ruby purple color turning violet at the rim with a reflective edge. The nose is attractively perfumed with cola and smoke on dark fruits. Loads of blackberry and cassis on the full-bodied and round palate, but aptly balanced by medium plus acidity. Very supple on the palate with secondary flavors of leather, almonds, dark chocolate and cedar all the way through the long, spicy, but velvety finish. Drink now until 2032.

Bordecembre no. 32 (Of a total of 43 all month of December!)
60% Cab, 38% Merlot, 2% PV.
Second wine of Ducru-Beaucaillou and 50% of all production. 2/3rds new oak.
Blackberries and blackcurrant on nose which was initially tight, but give it some air and the mouthfeel improves to a silky feel.
Crisp acid, medium tannins too. Third La Croix this year, thanks again to Leong for sharing this.
Enjoyable dinner wine which seems to keep developing, best enjoyed after a quick full decant or an hour or two of bottle breathing time.
Happy Birthday Joy.. at If Only, U-Thant KL.
