This was slow to open up. Rather disjointed upon opening. Drank half, poured half into a 375 stored in the fridge overnight. Second night, the wine has opened up and come together wonderfully....
Color: Deep ruby garnet. Nose: Smoke, plums, cinnamon spice and that great briary zinfandel aroma. Palate: Wonderful length and balance on the palate. Not hot at all despite stated 15.9% abv. Sweet red and black fruits predominate the flavor profile. Firm but sweet tannins support the long, delicious finish.
What a treat! I wish all zins could age this well.

Was surprised to find the 1993 ridge zinfandel this good and so well balanced. Good aroma on the nose. Smooth on the palate, complex enough and very enjoyable. Very good balance between the old vintage secondary flavors and the young fruity notes. The could be one of the best years to drink it now. Short and light finish, other than that it's very enjoyable overall.

Full-bodied, muscular, brambly Zin. Perfectly mature and could go another decade, knowing Paul's flair for balance.
