  • Cellared since release, reconditioned 22/6/1987. Beautiful dark brown color, classic aged burgundy nose with still jammed dark fruit, tea, five spice, dust, violet, orange blossom, citrus, tobacco, chocolate, molasse, petro, rubber, anise, clove, pepper and yeast. So incredibly energetic on the palate, lingering to a spicy, textured finish. The lightness combined with a dense, powerful vintage... love it. 97

  • Came out of a fairly heavily ullaged bottle (about 6 centimetres) but the colour was good and wine in great form. It had a beautiful floral scent coupled with notes of brown sugar, hoisin, honey and sandalwood. It was thick in the mouth but not heavy and there was some iodine flavours in the background. It had excellent length of flavour and was marvellous with the Milawa chicken, foie gras and leek.
