  • Light golden-yellow
Quiet nose with crushed stone, wet chalk, ripe yellow peach and a savoury edge.
Strident acidity on entry with a stony/mineral almost cordite edge giving a fresh rubber element. This does blow off as the wine opens. The mid-palate has breadth yet still retains the classic PYCM tautness (like a belt around a plumper person). Fruits of green and yellow apple fill the mid-palate, and there is a grippyness to the back palate. Not that complex, this feels well made, correct and a smart example of Rully.

  • Last of 12 and a surprise as thought had finished some time ago but found a lost stray. Still v impressive nose showing notes of age but just starting to fade in the mouth. Will buy a later vintage again at some point.

  • The wine is clear and pale lemon in colour.
The nose is clean with medium (+) intensity aromas of primary citrus fruits such as lemon and stone fruits such as nectarine, secondary aromas of oak such as vanilla and mlf such as butter, and tertiary aromas of nuts such as hazelnuts and smoke. The wine is developing.
The palate is dry with medium acidity, medium alcoho (12.5%), medium body and medium (+) intensity flavours of lemon, nectarine, vanilla, butter, smoke, hazelnut. The wine has a medium (+) finish.
The wine is very good quality. It can be drunk now but is suitable for further ageing for 2 years.
